The Goumets Show is the No. 1 Food and Beverage Fair of quality in Europe and one of the most prestigious references in the world. It is the event par excellence where to find the most exquisite in gastronomic products, and will take place from 17 to 20 April at the IFEMA fairgrounds in Madrid.
With a trajectory of 35 editions with a continuous growth and with a purely commercial spirit, it is the largest food and beverage fair of quality held on the European continent. Worldwide, Gourmets is a clear and prestigious reference in the sector for presenting an unbeatable showcase of high-end trends, and for the first time in its history will have five pavilions (4, 5, 6, 7 and 8), so it will record figures exceeding 70,000 m2. The fairground hosts more than 2,000 national and international exhibitors, where more than 55,000 unique products are presented and where you can enjoy more than 1,200 activities. This year the organization expects more than 100,000 professionals to visit the fair, where attendees will be able to learn about, taste and be surprised by the best of the gastronomic sector in a single space. Madrid is the guest community of this edition, while Brazil is this year’s Country of Honor. The South American country, through some twenty companies, will bring to the Spanish and international public the best of its food and beverage industry through, for example, cachaça, coffee, açaí, sugar, wine, spices and healthy snacks. Also this year there are four great novelties as far as competitions are concerned: the first World Championship of Escanciado will be held, while bluefin tuna will be the protagonist of GourmeTapa by Fuentes, the first championship of tapas made with this product, the Master Pinchos Gourmets or the Best Joselito Ham Sandwich contest. Along with these new events, other traditional events are also returning, such as the 29th Ham Cutters Competition, the 28th Tierra de Sabor Spanish Sommeliers Championship co-sponsored by Bodegas Protos, the 15th Spanish Oyster Openers Championship, the 13th Championship of the Best Spanish Cheeses, and the competitions organized by Estrella Galicia. On the other hand, two of the most visited showcases are the Wine Tunnel and the EVOO Tunnel, which attract the attention of all professionals visiting the fair, are part of the presentation of Spanish gastronomy in which the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is once again present with “The Richest Country in the World”, where you can enjoy show cooking, conferences and presentations of our gastronomy.
